Job #3

Image
"A piece of dancing driftwood caught his attention and his eyes followed it down the current. How slowly it appeared to move! What a sluggish stream!" When I read this it reminded me of the Zambezi River in Africa. I had the opportunity to go tiger fish fishing with my Dad and uncle there. The water was suprisingly slow, which was very strange to me because of what happened a few miles downstream. At that point, the river dropped 355 feet forming Victoria Falls, the largest curtain of water falling in the world.

Job #2

Why exactly do you think that Fahrquhar wanted to destroy the bridge? Do you think it was more for his own glory, or do you think his intentions were for the war effort? I know it's hard to guess at a persons intentions, but tell me what you think the driving force was for his actions.

Job #1

"To be hanged and drowned" he thought, "that is not so bad; but I do not wish to be shot. No; I will not be shot; that is not fair." (chapter 3) We read an Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge this morning as a group. After the story, we talked about execution. As a family we discussed our personal preference of execution for ourselves. I personally, unlike Mr. Fahrquhar, would rather be shot. I don't want to suffer, I would rather die instantly. I don't understand why Mr. Fahrquhar would prefer not to be shot or why he thinks that would be unfair. Let me know what your thoughts are on this.
What's up fam! Looking foward to being in class with y'all.
